Wedding Favors Ideas that are Easy on the Budget

The big questions with wedding favors are 1) what type will you have and 2) do you make them or buy them? More often, brides are making their wedding favors as supplies and ideas are abundant. Here are a few ideas for favors that are really easy on the budget and are made with other wedding things that double-up as favors too!

Turn Place Cards into Favors

Make the place card double as the party favor by downloading a calligraphy font for free online. Next, look up the meaning of each guest’s name online at sites that give you the meaning of names in different cultures. List the most interesting fact under the guest’s name (type this with your new font using a place card template in Word.) Instead of, or in addition to the meaning you can list the year in which that person’s name was most popular. Put the card into a cute, wallet-sized reusable picture frame and you have a place card and fun wedding favor all in on

A Personalized ‘Pet’ Favor

Do the bride and groom love animals? With the invitation, request that each guest send you a picture of one of their pets. Don’t tell them why. Put each picture into a keepsake frame and use it as the wedding favor. The fun part is that each person looks for the pet’s picture, not their name, on the place card table. Of course you’ll have to put the table number somewhere on the frame.

Miniature Cakes

Here is an adorable idea! Create miniature favor cakes and place each in clear plastic miniature boxes. Decorating is quick and easy if you use candy flowers similar to flowers in the bridal bouquet. To save even more money, these favors can double as each guest’s piece of wedding cake.

Candy Bar Wrappers

Why not wrap your favorite candy bar (or that of the groom) with a message and pass them out at the rehearsal dinner or wedding. You can even find clever themes to spark conversation and make guests chuckle. For example, do the names of the bride and groom both start with M? Why not use M&M’s. If you’re a banker, trader or any other fiancé-related profession, hand out a Pay Day.
