The Most Popular Wedding Venue Choices

The bride and groom always know when they’ve found the perfect wedding venue. They see it, and instantly fall in love. Sometimes it’s a venue the bride’s had in mind since she was six years old. Sometimes it’s a location that means something special to the happy couple. Either way, you’ll remember the wedding venue for the rest of your life.

Many couples go through a similar process when narrowing down their choices. Some base their decision on price, numbers of guests, and locations. We happen to think there’s only one thing that matters: gut instinct. What does your heart want? If you need some inspiration, here are the most common choices.

Church – For those looking for a traditional wedding, a church is the perfect venue. If you’re a religious person, it will probably be your local church and congregation. The best thing about a church wedding is that it means something special to you. There’s a history and a higher purpose behind your decision. Churches are also the most beautiful buildings, so you’ll guarantee some fantastic photos!

Country House – Once-upon-a-time, churches were the only real option for weddings. Now, there are bespoke wedding venues all across the country. We often think that a country house provides the perfect backdrop to your happy day. You can take advantage of elegant furnishings and dining halls for the wedding breakfast. You can usually make the most of outdoor gardens during the summer too!

The beach – Is there anything more romantic than a beach wedding? We think not. The waves lap the shore as the bride and groom take their vows. It’s the ultimate luxury wedding idea. You’ll have to consider exactly where the beach is, however. If you’re not lucky enough to have a warm beach on your doorstep, you’ll have to travel. Sometimes, you’ll have to choose whether the beach destination is more important than a full guest list!

Garden – We love a good summer wedding! Most couples wake up praying for sun, and warm weather makes for a wonderful day. You can set up a large marquee for the wedding breakfast, and get married out in the sun. You just have to hope that a rain shower doesn’t ruin the day for everyone!

Hotel – Nowadays, it’s very common to find a top-class hotel and take advantage of their wedding packages. You’ll get the best suite in the building for your wedding night, and you can stumble up the stairs after the reception! Imagine getting married in the luxury surroundings of a five-star hotel.

Medieval banquet hall – We recently went to a wedding in a medieval hall, and it was beautiful. Complete with stone walls, aging wooden beams, and candlelight, it was the perfect winter wedding. You can get creative with your wedding venue! Don’t follow the crowd, follow your heart.

Look for the venues that take your breathe away. Imagine your friends and family laughing and having fun. When it all clicks, you know you’ve found the perfect venue!
