Funky Wedding Ideas
A lot of people tend to go for the more traditional wedding style, which is fine, it’s one of the most romantic and special days there ever was. But there are a few things you can do to add a little bit of funk to a traditional wedding. A lot of people don’t consider them because they’re so focused on planning everything else, but the little extras that you put into a wedding are so important to the whole day. Hired Extras
Why not push the boat out a little and think of some of the hired extras that you can have. They make the day so much more fun for both the adults and the children of the wedding. A lot of weddings are just so plain now, and you find half of the wedding guests spend the day sat in their seat. A wedding should be about everyone getting up to have some fun and enjoy the time with the new bride and groom. So, one idea that we’ve got that both kids and adults will like is a magician. There are plenty that you can hire that will do specialised tricks for a wedding, and besides, who doesn’t love to have their mind blown by a little magic. If it doesn’t keep the adults entertained, at least you know it’s definitely going to keep the children entertained! Something specifically just for the children could be a bouncy castle assault course to, which pushes the boat out a little from just the normal bouncy castle. The company from who you hire the bouncy castle from will usually come with attendants that can manage the safety of the children whilst the adults enjoy the music! Finally, you could hire a little ice cream van or mini sweet shop on wheels. It’s a tiny added extra that everyone will love, and the mini sweet shop for example would usually bring with it cute little jars that guests can use as memorabilia for the wedding.
Themes
We don’t mean that everyone has to come dressed up, but you could think about doing a theme for the wedding so that the venue is all decorated to be a certain theme. It could be a scene from your favourite film, Disney themed, white wedding themed. Just anything that jazz’s a normal venue up a bit to create a different atmosphere. A lot of venues won’t mind you doing this, and there are even some companies out there that will do it for you. If you wanted to, you could go themed with the colours that you ask your guests to wear, but a lot of people enjoy the freedom of being able to wear whatever they want for a wedding.
Destinations
A destination wedding is one of the best wedding ideas there is. It might mean that you can’t bring as many guests with you as you first would have liked, but at least the wedding will be personal and with the most important people around you. There are so many romantic wedding destinations to choose from as well. A lot of people go for the typical beach wedding as they’re so easy to sort. The hotel will usually provide the cake, the venue, and the food for during and after the ceremony. So there is actually a lot of money to be saved by doing it this way! If you wanted to be a bit funky with your wedding destination, you could go for a more unique destination such as a ski resort or similar. They offer a different kind of view, a different temperature, but a lot of fun for the wedding guests that will stay around the days of the wedding as well. Plus, having a literal white wedding is just so cute for some people!
The Wedding Reception
The wedding reception should be the most exciting part of a wedding. It is a time to celebrate the day that has just happened, and a time where everyone should be up on their feet and dancing. But as we’ve already discussed, this isn’t always the case. A funky thing to do would be to hire an entertainer to force everyone up on their feet and doing party games. It might sound like a bit of a childish idea, but when the drinks are flowing and everyone is having fun, party games are exactly what they’ll need.
