Fun Ways to Create the Perfect Wedding Memories

Your wedding day is a special occasion, and you want to remember it for as long as possible. Although you’ll always have those memories in your mind, it’s great to have a physical reminder of the day too. Almost everyone has photos taken at their wedding, but that’s not the only way you can preserve memories of the special event. If you want to have reminders of the wedding that you can cherish forever, you can use both modern and more traditional methods to create them. As well as having photos taken, and encouraging your guests to take their own, you can put together a scrapbook, film the day or get your guests to create something.

Photography and Videography

Photographs have long been a popular way of capturing wedding memories, and more recently videos have become popular too. Most couples choose to hire a professional wedding photographer to cover the ceremony, at the very least. But if you want to make it more fun, you can go beyond standing outside the venue for a few snaps. Find a photographer who will help you get creative with different locations, props and poses to capture some unique snaps. It’s also lots of fun to get your guests to take plenty of photos. You can get everyone to share them online in lots of different ways. Create an album on Facebook, a hashtag on Twitter or Instagram or even your own website or app to collect everyone’s photos.

Create a Memory Book or Box

If you want to keep lots of little memories from the wedding, you can collect them in a book or pretty box. You could keep a party favor from the tables, a dried flower from your bouquet and a piece of cake (providing it’s fruit cake). You could have lots of fun putting a scrapbook or memory box together and then take it out whenever you want to look at everything.

Get Your Guests to Make a Time Capsule

For a unique wedding “surprise”, create a box that your guests can post messages into. With your time capsule all full up, you can open it on your first anniversary to remind you of your big day. Of course, if you’re impatient, you could always open it up as soon as the wedding is over. You could buy a solid box to use or just decorate some cardboard to create something cheaply.

Make a Wedding Playlist or Wedding Scent

Memories aren’t just about what you saw, but your other senses too. Focus on your hearing and sense of smell with a wedding playlist or a bespoke fragrance. You could put together a playlist of some of the most memorable songs of the day, such as the one you walked down the aisle to or your first dance. Scents play a significant role in memory, so using your own fragrance and keeping some of it is an excellent idea.

You’ll have lots of fun putting your special memories together. If you even feel your memories start to fade, you can always look at the physical reminders you created.
