Five Things Every Perfect Hen Party Needs

So your best friend is getting married and, as maid of honor, it’s your job to plan the best possible hen party. Easy, right? Well, maybe not. Planning a hen party sure sounds easy, but it can easily get out of hand. It can be very easy to go over budget, but it can also be too easy to forget some of the most important parts. So what does every hen party need? Here’s a handy checklist to make sure you don’t miss anything!

Guests

It won’t be a party without any guests! You and the bride will definitely show up, but will anyone else? To make sure all the bride’s friends and relatives turn up, give them plenty of notice so they can keep the date free. If you are planning a weekend away, they could need to know a couple of months in advance to book time off work. So don’t forget to send off the invitations quite a bit in advance of the actual party. Once they are in the post, you have one less thing to worry about!

Transport

Whether you are having a night out on the town or heading to the airport, your hen party should travel in style! Some of the most popular options are hiring out vintage cars or jumping in a stretch limo. Stretch limos usually offer a bar in the car, so you can enjoy some champagne and snacks as you are chauffeured around. For an idea of prices, take a look at limo service websites.

Costumes

Fancy dress themes are very popular when it comes to hen parties. Do you have your costume ready? Even if you don’t choose to theme the party, many hens choose to jazz up their clothes. Usually with fun accessories, such as fluffy handcuffs and cute devil horns. Don’t forget sashes either! It is a tradition for the bride-to-be to wear a sash, so everyone knows who she is. Get a colorful sash for the maid of honor and other bridesmaids as well!

Food

Even if you are just having a night out, you will need food at some point. Probably to soak up all the alcohol! Think about booking a table in a posh restaurant before you start going to bars. It’ll be a very civilized and sophisticated start to the evening. If you hire a limo, there may be food included in that. However, it will probably only be light snacks. If so, think about including a stop-off for food elsewhere throughout the night.

Games

It isn’t a hen party without a couple of fun games, is it? Bring some adult-themed games along with you to play while you are out and about. You could even set a quiz for the bride-to-be to find out just how much she really knows about her fiance! Not only will this add some extra fun to your party, but it will be a fantastic ice breaker.

Now all that’s left to do is to wait for the big event! Have fun!
