Including Pets In Your Wedding

Wedding is a special day and on this day everyone like’s to be surrounded by family and friends. So include your pet in the celebration of your special day. As pets a considered as family members for most of the people. No matter what type of a pet you have, if it’s important to you, then there are lots of meaningful ways to include them in your wedding celebration.

Start by checking the rules regarding animals at the venue where the ceremony will take place. So if you are getting married in the church, pets may not be allowed. But it doesn’t matter include them in your reception celebration. Also make sure to appoint someone to take care of the pet before, during and after the ceremony.

Trained pets are much easier to handle at celebrations. So before making them a part of your celebration makes sure they are trained properly. Otherwise they can cause huge damage in the wedding and the guests may also get scared.

Here are some of the ways you can make your pet a part of the celebration:

  1. If pets are allowed at the venue, then have your dog be led down the aisle wearing a pretty leash. You can have a bridesmaid or a flower girl do this. You could also train the dog to walk down the aisle with a flower basket in his mouth. If its male dog then have him wear a bow around his neck, and if it’s a female then make her wear a flower band around her neck. If you are ready to spend then buy a doggie-tux or even a doggie wedding dress from the pet stores.

  2. If you haven’t selected a flower girl then let your pet do the honor. It’s a fun way to have him play a special role.

  3. Considered making you pet the ring bearer. It’s easy; just tie a velvet or silk pillow around his neck with the ring placed securely on top. Again, you can have someone escort him down the aisle, or if he is very well behaved and comes when called, he can walk down alone.

  4. If you want to include your cat in your ceremony have a bridesmaid or flower girl walk down the aisle with her in a decorative basket. Or, if you’re concerned that the cat might be spooked and jump out, then decorate his cat carrier with festive ribbons and flowers. He could be placed at the altar so that he is with you through the entire event.

  5. Looking for ways to have your pets witness your vows. Set up his cage at the altar and have him displayed behind you. This is a great way to add meaning and beauty to your event. This way they could also be a part of the wedding.

  6. If you don’t have any pets, or would prefer not to include your own, you can always consider releasing butterflies into the air after the ceremony. But keep in mind that butterflies can’t stand low temperatures so only consider this option if you are having a spring or summer wedding. For colder temperatures, releasing doves would be a good option. This is also considered to bring good luck.

If none of these options appeal to you, then considers placing a framed picture of your pet at a special location, like near the entrance or by the guest book. That way they will be close to your heart and be a part of the wedding.
