Generally the fall bouquets tend to be more of the armheld or classical handheld bouquets. The armheld style allows for the heavier flowers and grasses to be displayed at their best. An armheld bouquet will range in price from $75.00 to approximately $150.00, depending on the size and type of flowers used.

September Wedding Flowers

As always roses are often used in September bouquets, but the emphasis is on the deep oranges, apricots, terra cotta and the salmon and dusky red colors. To balance the bouquet freesia or montbretia is often used, and the montbretia can even be used in the dry form with the seedpods providing a wonderful texture to the arrangement. Celosia, or coxcomb, can also be added to give a feathery type appearance to the bouquet. This flower can be used either live or dried, but the color is more vibrant with the live variety. Calla lilies in oranges and rich vibrant reds and yellows can add a bright spot of color and their shape can enhance any type of bouquet.

October Wedding Flowers

October is really the month for the rich jewel tones contrasting with the turning leaves. Many brides opt for more foliage and dried grasses in the arrangement in this month. The natural yellows and burnt oranges provide a great compliment to the Gloriosa lily, which has become increasingly popular in fall bouquets. This lily is deep red with yellow border on the petals, and is just the central flower for either armheld or cascading type bouquets. Larkspur can be added to give the rich jeweled tone and to provide a contrasting color. Care needs to be taken to blend the colors so that they match and do not detract from the overall appearance.

November Wedding Flowers

November is somewhat of a transition month, depending on where you live. Warm days can seem like fall, whereas cooler or even cold days remind you of winter. Many brides like to stay to the whites and peach colors for the early part of November weddings, and then move towards the darker reds and greens of winter. Mums and roses are a traditional combination for winter weddings. A growing trend is to combine the lavender and dusky pink Mums with white or mauve roses. Greenery is kept the dusty greens and silvers to highlight the floral colors. White lilies are often used as the central flower of to provide the cascade appearance.
